Position Overview
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and day-to-day operations of The Kiwi Motel. This role blends hands-on hospitality with strategic oversight, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong team leadership, and smooth, efficient operations across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and operate daily motel operations including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services

• Lead, train, and support department managers and staff, fostering a positive and accountable team culture

• Ensure consistently high standards of cleanliness, service, and guest satisfaction

• Manage scheduling, payroll oversight, and staff performance reviews

• Handle guest feedback, reviews, and escalated concerns with professionalism and care

• Monitor budgets, control costs, and support revenue optimization initiatives

• Maintain compliance with health, safety, licensing, and Smart Serve regulations

• Coordinate vendor relationships, supplies, and maintenance planning

• Collaborate with ownership on marketing initiatives, packages, events, and seasonal programming

• Ensure SOPs are followed and continuously improved as the business evolves

Qualifications & Experience

• 3–5+ years of hospitality management experience preferred

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team

• Excellent guest service and problem-solving abilities

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

• Comfortable working weekends, holidays, and peak seasons

• Smart Serve certification (required)

• Experience with property management systems, scheduling tools, and basic financial reporting
